As my 1st term as Post Commander comes to an end, “Farewell and Thank You.” I am deeply grateful to our incredible volunteers who have made this journey possible. To the volunteers in the following roles: Corporate Administrative and Finance (Darelyn Arter and Brenda Martin); Building Operations & Maintenance (Chris Robinson and Dave Meyers); Events, Recreation, & Activities Workers (Karen Good and Gloria Harris) and Bar Menus and Food Safety (Larry Henning and Goria Harris). Along with our financial supporters, you’ve played an essential role in keeping our building open for business, welcoming to our members, guests, and visitors, and keeping it safe for everyone. There are also new events and activities in the works to provide even more value to our membership.

 

We continue to benefit from Tacoma Calvary for a steady income and have hall rentals and band nights pending to ensure additional support. In June 2025, our nonprofit Post #1 transitioned to being fully managed and led by volunteers. Let’s all join together in supporting the Officers and Trustees who will take us into this next phase.

 

We’ll hold 2nd nominations on Apr. 23rd at the Post for several important AMVETS positions. We are calling on our members to step up and take on leadership roles, including: Post 1 Cmdr, 1st Vice Cmdr, 2nd Vice Cmdr, 3rd Vice Cmdr, Finance Officer, Judge Advocate, Provost Marshall, Adjutant and Trustee Positions. If you’re interested or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Commander, Adjutant, or any other officer for more information. I encourage everyone to attend the Post meeting on Thur., Apr. 23rd, at 6PM for 2nd nominations. We will also have the Post Trustee meeting on Thur., Apr. 16th, at 6PM.
